Food & Shopping in NYC

Meet up with Mag and her girlfriend Lydia in New York. The 3 of us were from different flights! Lydia brought Mag & I to Tofu House, a uber nice Korean joint for late lunch. After lunch, we walked around 5th Ave and headed to a roadside cart outside Hilton Hotel for its Chicken Over Rice. Too many good food that I didn't have time for Shake Shack. Oh well.. next trip perhaps? :P

Managed to complete 80% of my X'mas shopping in New York. :) Superdry, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Sephora... My dear friends & family, you can certainly look forward to receiving your X'mas present from me :)

Can't wait to wrap the presents with the X'mas wrappers I bought from London. And looking forward to 8 Dec - will be meeting my girls for our annual X'mas celebration.

One more night in Frankfurt before I head home to Singapore. Period cramps & body aches, please go away. :( Miss my bed, soft fluffy pillow and Hubby's cuddle!

Catch up with Twinkle over hair salon and cafe. It has been a while since we meet. Boyfriend. Hubby. Family. Outside friends. Long flights. These had kept us rather occupied in a good way. :)

Itacho Sushi @ Ion Orchard

Every time Hubby and I pass by Itacho Sushi at Ion Orchard, there is bound to be a queue outside. So we will give it a pass and dine at other places.

Just a few days ago, we were there at around 5pm to give it a try.

The Line @ Shangri-La

Buffet spread was good.. Lots of variety. E.g sashimi, fresh oyster station, crocodile meat, teh tarik, cheesecake, laska, tandoori chicken. These are the highlight of each station.

However, the food was nothing to rave about. For the price (almost S$200 for 2 pax) and venue of a weekday dinner, I was expecting that the food will unforgettably heavenly.


Awww.. I still miss Table8 Cantonese Szechuan buffet at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta. Uber top notch! Share this post:

Red Light District Amsterdam

I have been to Amsterdam a few times but I have never been to the infamous red light district of Amsterdam.

This trip, thanks for the spontaneous set of senior crew, we managed to pop by and take a peek.

"De Wallen, also known as Walletjes or Rosse Buurt, is a designated area for legalised prostitution and is Amsterdam's largest and most well known red-light district. This neighborhood has become a famous tourist attraction. It consists of a network of roads and alleys containing several hundred small, one-room apartments rented by sex workers who offer their services from behind a window or glass door, typically illuminated with red lights." -wikipedia

Both side of the canal has tiny rooms that houses the working girls.

It was an eye opener. The working girls / trans behind the glass dress in bikinis / sexy tiny gowns to attract passerby.

We managed to see less than 5 girls on display, as 95% of the windows was covered by the curtains, so I guess the girls were engaged as it was said to be the peak hour.
