Preparation for Vday

Hello~ Just got from London.. :) Bought lots of good buy from Primark along Oxford Street. Happy!

Been thinking a lot for the past 2 weeks. Planning to do something different from the current blog that I have. Hopefully it will all work out and serve me well too. ;)

And yes! Tomorrow is Vday!! So looking forward. Went to the NTUC Fair Price to buy the ingredients and tomorrow morning will be going to the wet market for the seafood & chicken :) Twinkle & Raymond will be coming over to celebrate Vday together with Charles & I. ❤

If you follow me on Instagram (@mmkimmie), you will know that Hubby Charles had bought me really cute flowers & SK-II Facial Treatment Essence! So full of love..

6 more days to our Tokyo Trip. Time really flies! When we were planning for it, it was 2 months ago.. and I am glad that I had prepared early for this trip. Can't wait to buy those cutesy Disney merchandise ~!!

KimmieKiss

Feeling kinda bored in Melbourne, I clicked on the link of my previous blog KimmieKiss (www.kimmiekiss.blogspot.com). sorry the blog was locked as it contains very private details of my work, only a small group of people I know can read them.

Reading my old entries brings back some happy feelings. Especially those post on travels with Twinkle and my girlfriends to Tokyo, Bali, Los Angeles Disneyland, Los Angeles Universal Studio, etc...

I wonder if I stop flying, will I be able to have such privileges to travel as and when I like?

And if I stop flying, what will I be doing? Should I continue flying? All these thoughts come as the renewal of my 5 years contract is approaching.

Lazy Bums

Recently, I have developed a pet peeve towards lazy bums.

There are my list of complains towards one lazy bum at work:

• came 5 mins late for briefing and not apologetic about it

• work VERY slowly

• does not show any initiative

• I personally feel that he doesn't take pride in his work

• when I asked him to pass my precious customer a set of Australian papers as I was tied up with work and my customer asked me to ask my other colleague for the papers as she wants it immediately. He gave her 3 copies of International Herald Tribute and 1 copy of Today. Firstly, both are not Australian papers. Secondly, why would you give someone 3 copies of the same papers??!!

• does not show urgency in doing his task.

• have zero knowledge in our In-flight entertainment when the same customer seek his help twice and doesn't ask us for help. He just left the customer hanging there.

• and lots lots more.....

I know I am being unprofessional in sounding my displeasure online. But this is simply too much for me to swallow, forgive and forget.

What I wanna say is.. Lazy bums, if you are lazy, and feel like it is a hassle ... Then quit and don't work! If you feel that it is such a physically demanding work, then change your job to one that is not that demanding. Why do you want to sabotage others who love their work?

Slept a total of 6 hrs for 2 days

Yawn..

Please pardon me. I haven't sleep enough. For some things in life, you just have to sacrifice your sleep for it.

Yes, I have spent my precious sleeping time for sushi at the infamous Tsujiki Market (will blog about this real soon... stay tune for it ok?)

On the side note, I am really happy that Hubby & I will be going to Disneyland for 3 days! Yeah!! And we had booked the Magic Room at one of the Disneyland Hotels. Can't wait.

Count down to Tokyo

Daisypath Vacation tickers

Ever since our Feb roster was out, I can't stop hopping for joy! So looking forward to holiday in Tokyo - Disneyland, Disney Sea, Oyster Bar, Sashimi at Tsujuki Market, and shopping at Shibuya 109 for shoes!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

Here's my recent research on Tokyo:

食尚玩家 青春第一站 東京自由行 1/5

The Rimowa cargo bag that the host used is one of the MUST get item for travel. The wheels of the Rimowa is so smooth even on carpets!

I bought a black Limbo Rimowa recently and I ❤ it to bits!! If you are a crew and travel to Frankfurt, Germany, u may get it there.. The retail selling price in Germany is 501€ (S$862). And in Singapore, it is a day light robbery of at least S$1400. However, you can get it at the Airliner House (if you want the address, u may contact me for details) for 389€ after crew discount. Super worth it can!!

I don't really fancy Tamago, so I don't think I will be going all out for it. On the other hand, the Sushi selection looks awesome! Droooooools....

2012

Happy New Year !!

2012 is the year of Dragon :) May the year ahead be a fruitful one for all of us :)

I am in New York right now. To side track a little, I was here just 2 weeks ago with Twinkle (here's her post on our rendezvous together in New York straight after she touch down!).

It's nice to be here again because tomorrow morning I will be going to a Dim Sum restaurant which I have not been there before with my set of crew. So looking forward to check out a new makan joint. Yeah!

Since I am here not too long ago, there's nothing much for me to buy. It's kinda like a blessing in disguise to call up for this flight (yes! I was called up.. Hee hee.. just 6 hour before departure) because I can save some dough for my February trip with Hubby.

Recently, Hubby & I watched the Sing-Off 3 on Youtube. It's really good! I kinda like that the limelight is also shared with the "background" voices - beatbox and bass.

Also, Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and it will be the first time that Hubby & I will be giving out red packets :) Pocket burnt but I can imagine the happy faces of the little kids receiving it.

Till then... Ciao.

My Homework for Tokyo Feb 2012

Hello people..

I am doing my homework right now. Yeah, gotta be hardworking because I am planning an awesome holiday to Tokyo for my dearest handsome *clear throat* (recently, he kept saying he's very handsome, and it's kinda fun to play along too :P) Hubby.

Initially, we planned to go for Club Med at Maldives for S$5,000 minus the air-ticket price.  Besides, February is an awesome period to go and soak up the sun there.

Recently, Hubby got called-up at the very last minute for SQ12 and had an awesome time in Tokyo. I being quite an expert with Tokyo *uhem* (there was a period I did SQ12 for like 3 times in 3 months), think it would be awesome for me to show him around and bring him to my favorite hang-out places there. So we had decided to go Tokyo instead of Maldives.

Well, I did mentioned that I'm an expert with Tokyo right. So why do I have to do homework then?

Ahhhhh..... that is because I totally have no idea how should I go about getting a pre-paid SIM card with data plan in Japan. I need internet connection because I wanna use it hand in hand with an Apple App I found today :)

So I went to google about it and found out that it is not a good idea to get a pre-paid SIM card in Japan. Boohoo..

Then, I found this - MiFi.

Apparently it provides rental service that connects to the internet from my computer or smartphone. Best of all, it is unlimited access to the internet with a flat rental fee.

Wow.. In fact, I can connect up to five devices at the same time. Hubby's iPhone, Kimmie's iPhone and MacBook Air on the go.. So we can still use our gadgets anywhere and anytime we want in Tokyo. :) No more going missing. Hee hee hee..

For 1-4 days, the rental fee is JPY3,150 (S$52) which is really reasonable. But the fine prints read: Basic Fee JPY1,575 per kit will be necessary and a postage fee of JPY1,050. So the total will be SG96!! OH DARN!!! That is really not CHEAP now. Besides, the battery life of the WiFi is really short too. 4 hours perhaps?

In that case, I have to look for alternative.

Well, I do have an option with Singtel's Bridge DataRoam Unlimited Plus. With a flat fee of S$20 per day, and automatically deactivate at 12 midnight on the same date. It seems like a better option if I were to activate the internet for the number of days there - hassle free! Besides, I will be spending 2 days in Disneyland and Disney Sea.. so no time for internet right?

So minus the 2 days at Disney, I have about 3-4 days in Tokyo. So I will only need to spend S$60-80.

I wonder if I were to activate the Bridge DataRoam on my iPhone, will I be able to switch on my Personal Hotspot to allow my MacBook Air and Hubby's iPhone for tethering? Anyone has any clue on this?

Hmm..

I bet you guys must be wondering why do I need the internet for? Earlier I had mentioned that I wanna use it hand in hand with a iPhone App - Tokyo Teleport Plus Video Guide

This app doesn't come cheap either.. The usual travel apps are only USD4.99 but this.. it's double the price at USD9.99

The reviews on this app are all 5 stars. Only recently, with its latest updates, it seems that the app crashes. Should I get it???

Oh manz.. Super tempting.

Anyway, I found another iPhone app and it's FREE!!

With this guide, you can download the map of the city that you will be visiting. In my case, it's Tokyo And there are 7 self-guided tours in it. :)

Worst come to worst, I will be using this free app without any internet connection in Tokyo and still be a happy girl. Hopefully. :P

1st December 2011

A date to celebrate - It's our 1st year anniversary. :)

Gosh!! Time really flies!

Our ROM seems to be like yesterday?!

Instead of getting me gift this year, Hubby just want to fill my stomach with food. He knows that no matter how crappy or shitty my day went, as long as I managed to eat GOOD and QUALITY food, I will be happy and pleased. This kind of bliss is priceless and unexplainable, unless you are a foodie like me.

Side track a bit: I know many people just can't believe that I eat a lot and still so skinny. I really love food. I can eat a lot if the food is up to my standard. Say for example, a piece of salmon sashimi. I love salmon sashimi.. the amount of salmon sashimi I can eat in a single sitting is scary! However, if the salmon served is not tasty/fresh/poor quality, I won't touch it after a trying a slice even though I love salmon sashimi. It's something that I am not proud of but I just can't help it. Gulp!

So back to the topic, this was what Hubby had treated me to.

Day 1 - Morton's the steakhouse at Oriental Mandarin Hotel
It was our first time there and I had been bugging him for a long time to bring me there someday. I was hooked on the FREE mini beef sandwich at the Morton's Bar during April 2011 to celebrate Ann's birthday. So I am like dying to sink my teeth into the real piece of beef one day. We ordered cold seafood platter, steaks and desert. Very expensive! I feel that it was pretty over-priced, don't think I will go back there again because the food (especially the oyster and steaks) was below my expectation. Service wise was top-notched! They have very attentive staffs.

Day 2 - Melben Seafood at Toa Payoh
Oh manz.. I just can't resist a crab. My No. 1 favorite is the Chili Crab of No Signboard Seafood at Geylang. And Melben Seafood's Bee Hoon Crab is my No. 2 love!

Day 3 - Angus House at Ngee Ann City
Since I didn't have a good steak and oyster at Morton's, Hubby decided to bring me to Angus House to ease my dissatisfaction. Oyster there is just so yummy, fresh and soooooo much cheaper!! The steak is good too! I just love the course by course dinner. Prawn biscuit starter, pumpkin soup, salad, main course and tiramisu desert (I don't take any coffee thingy, so I opted for ice-cream instead)

Non-stop feasting on good food back to back. Happy Kimmie ~

Young Parents

Approaching 30.  I guess my maternal instinct is kicking in...

These are the things I did recently:

  • Subscribed to Young Parents magazine for 1 year
  • Bought "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" e-book
  • Watched 康熙来了 - 月子做得好永远没烦恼  (very informative!! I had learnt a lot from this episode on confinement)
  • Watched Channel U's Daddy 101 on XinMSN with Charles. :P
  • Researched on the confinement choices in Singapore
  • Researched on doing confinement in Taiwan confinement center

Guess it is just me. Just wanna know as much information as possible before we plan for any children. :P But it does not mean that I am ready for one yet.. I feel that I am still a child, not wanting to grow up so fast! Hahaha..

Food & Shopping in NYC

Meet up with Mag and her girlfriend Lydia in New York. The 3 of us were from different flights! Lydia brought Mag & I to Tofu House, a uber nice Korean joint for late lunch. After lunch, we walked around 5th Ave and headed to a roadside cart outside Hilton Hotel for its Chicken Over Rice. Too many good food that I didn't have time for Shake Shack. Oh well.. next trip perhaps? :P

Managed to complete 80% of my X'mas shopping in New York. :) Superdry, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Sephora... My dear friends & family, you can certainly look forward to receiving your X'mas present from me :)

Can't wait to wrap the presents with the X'mas wrappers I bought from London. And looking forward to 8 Dec - will be meeting my girls for our annual X'mas celebration.

One more night in Frankfurt before I head home to Singapore. Period cramps & body aches, please go away. :( Miss my bed, soft fluffy pillow and Hubby's cuddle!

Material vs Love

Just moments ago, a leading steward was sharing with us about his stint at the orphanage and old folks' home. A topic that I am always interested in.

I had been to an orphanage once during secondary school and the old folk's home during my cabin crew foundation. That's all I had done physically for the society :(

Actually, a small part of me would like to overseas to help build a school, home, etc..  However, there are many personal limitations that refrained me from participating.

Well, back to the leading steward... He told us that if we were to donate to the orphanage, it was wise to call them to ask what they need (besides cash). As one of the orphanage he went to help out has a storage room full of toys which the children doesn't play with anymore.

He mentioned that the children would like things more practical to use in school. For example, red/black/blue/green pens, correction tapes, pencil case, bags.. And for the girls' home - toiletries.

Since Christmas is around the corner.. Shall I do something about it? :)

Maybe I should forgo my Louis Vuitton in exchange for something more priceless?

p/s I had updated my iPhone 4 to the iOS 5 system. (including iCloud) Phew~ All my messages and games were retained. Backup is essential people. Don't forget to do so if you are going to update your phone.

Greetings from Frankfurt

Hello People,

I am now in Frankfurt.. It's getting colder now. And yes.. I am heading to New York in 2 days time. Can't wait to eat the Shake Shack burger again~!

Oh ya.. thanks to my brother Keith, he gave me the MacBook Air. It's my very first Mac after soooooo many years. I remember during my secondary school days, we had the iconic iMac for awhile but the interface was so different compared to now.

Trying my best to get use to it.

p/s don't really like the razor sharp edges. it seems like if I weren't careful, i might get a cut or something.

Surprise!~!

On the night of my actual birthday, Glady asked me out to join them for a last minute dinner after "shopping" at a costume shop around our house. Didn't expect to recieve a surprise birthday cake from the company. :)

Expecting to leave after finishing our dinner, they told me to wait as they had ordered dessert. Ha!

It was very sweet .. all of you :) Thank you! Love you all~ Muackz!

And off we went to the LAN shop. First time playing LOL (League of Legend). Thanks to shifu, I managed to learn fast and enjoyed the game.

Blessing in Disguise

Do you believe in Karma?

I don't know to celebrate or to feel sorry for the person who had once betrayed me and was willingly to give up our friendship for some guy she met, twice.

It's funny how things come around. x100 time worst.

The angel in me tells me to keep it to myself and let her continue to live in her bubble.

The devil in me tells me to tell her the truth and burst her bubble.

Never ever give up friendship for lust.. It never last.

Whatever it is.. time will tell..

I'm just glad to have real true friend (you know who you are *wink* because I always tell u so) with me. No matter what, they always stand by me, love me and never betray me.

Isetan Private Sale

On Friday, there's a close door private sale for Isetan card members.

Was tempted by Hubby's mom to go together after meeting our designer for the house.

Glad that I went as I bought two pieces from Emporio Armani at a great discount!! A top for clubbing and winter coat is going at $100 each. Very cheap can. The former is selling at the retail price of $1,599. I thought the "1" wasn't there.

The original price for the winter coat is only 1/3 of the clubbing top. That is how ex the top is. Gosh!

Almost bought the ceramic knife set.. Think twice because it might go missing when I move house. :9 Share this post:
