King Ludwig II castles: Linderhof and Neuschwanstein

Hello!! I'm back here in Munich, Germany.

I love to visit Germany because the Germans are humble, friendly and easy-going people.

AND and and...

Buying Rimowa is sooo much cheaper in Germany too!

Changed around SGD 600 just for the Rimowa luggage  (cabin size), since I already own a Rimowa Limbo (cargo size).  The wheels are very smooth and is one of the best in the market, even on carpets.

It is almost half price as compared to buying in Singapore! And if you claim tax... more savings $$$!

But to my dismay, the color and size that I wanted has no stock. *sigh* Have to give it a miss this time round.

Since there's nothing for me to spend my money on, I decided to bring Hubby for the Royal Castles Tour. Hubby's first time to Munich -  a good excuse for me to go for the same tour again.

Linderhof and Neuschwanstein Castles

6.30am

Hubby and I at the hotel's lobby. Going for a hearty buffet breakfast before the tour bus come to pick us up at 7.30am at the hotel.   OMG!! The baguette in Germany is so damn solid (Singlish: describing something or someone very impressive). Try it when you are there ok?

8am

At the meeting point.

Got to wait till 8.30am to board the official tour bus.

Group shot with the girls.

By the way, I'm wearing a full head hair wig from a Korean online shop. So natural looking. I like the hair color as it brighten up my skin and makes me fairer. Plus, it helps to keep me warm when the temperature drop. Of course I wouldn't suggest wearing a full head long wig in 365-day-scorching-hot-summer in Singapore! Unless you wouldn't mind scratching your scalp like every few minutes.

In the tour bus, enjoying the scenic view throughout the 45mins journey.

Autumn is such a pretty season.

Yeah! Approaching Schloss Linderhof (Linderhof Palace).

Yes, that day was wet and gloomy. But that didn't deter us from being excited for this tour. :)

Preparing ourselves to walk in the drizzle. Luckily I have my hat with me, so I don't have to carry an umbrella.

The entrance to Schloss Linderhof.

No more photographs are allowed to be taken after this hall.

Will be showing you some of the photos that I found online...

Yes! You are not seeing things. King Ludwig II actually had this built inside the palace. But this part of the palace was not included in the tour.

Even though Linderhof is the smallest castle that King Ludwig II built, I personally feel that it is one of the nicest in the world because it is very elaborate and cosy.

It was kinda like Michael Jackson's Neverland of King Ludwig II time. Dreamy with fairy tale and all...

Also to add, I don't understand his obsession with swans. And it can be found in almost every corner there.

Even his personal spring water tap in his bedroom is modeled after a swan.

Kinda like Hello Kitty obsession!

Swan at the nearby lake.

Only a pair there. They kept following us - must be the down jackets that some of us are wearing.

Took this shot while walking back to the bus. Taken outside the ticketing area.

Us again~ :)

Famous Cuckoo Clocks.

They took us to a village to pick up some souvenirs.

Magnets is a MUST to get wherever I travel to. That is why we are looking so serious in choosing our magnets :P

Next and final stop: Neuschwanstein Castle (also known as the Sleeping Beauty Castle)

Sleep Beauty Castle
 Neuschwanstein.

Spooky looking due to the fog.  If only there is a haunted castle looking like that, it will sure be a kick-ass attraction!

closer to the Neuschwanstein Castle.

Mary's bridge or the Neuschwanstein Castle?

Let's walk towards the Mary's bridge.

A fantastic location to take a postcard photo of the Neuschwanstein castle.

Open only if the weather permits.

I love the sound of waterfall.

So sad that it was foggy.

Can't see anything further than 2 meters, let alone the faraway castle.

Taking a long walk to the Neuschwanstein Castle.

You may take the horse carriage to Schlob Hohenschwangau which is located down the slope.

The childhood residence of King Ludwig II, built by his father.

Haven't got the chance to visit Schlob Hohenschwangau. Hopefully one day I will be able to do so :)

Jpot / Universal Studio Singapore Halloween 2012

HAPPY  HALLOWEEN !!

Knowing that I am in Singapore to celebrate Halloween makes me feel really fortunate. Because I love celebrating Halloween. Halloween in Singapore can be VERY happening. Of course, you will have to be at the right place, with a group of happening friends.

Top 2 places to be seen dressing up (or even people watch) will be Zouk and Clarke Quay.

If you want to let your little ones dress up and be seen too, Clarke Quay is the place to be.

Of course Zouk is the place to be if you want to have some adult fun. People really do dress up there. Quality stuff.

Initially, my girlfriends and I had planned to dress up as living dead dolls for the Zouk Doll House event. Due to some last minute changes, we had decided to celebrate Halloween at the Universal Studio Singapore (USS).

It will be the 2nd year that USS is doing the Halloween Horror Nights.

And I had heard lots of rave about it. So exciting!!!

To prepare ourselves for the fright, we met earlier to have steamboat dinner at Jpot, Vivo City.

Jpot Hotpot Singapore Style Halloween
Wendy & I holding on to the Halloween banner.

On the table there's 3 bags of "trick or treat" candies for the girls. :) Specially brought into Singapore from Japan and Australia. The cute bags is from 100yen shop. Cutesy!!

Kimmie Wendy Charmaine Serene at Jpot Hotpot Singapore Style
Lovely dinner with my company that evening.

In case you are wondering why we were all dressed in orange and whether is was a coincidental thing. Serene (extreme right, with the cute little orange witch hat) had arranged for us to be color coded.

I think it's awesome because we look good in group pictures.

(By the way, USS Halloween Horror Nights doesn't allowed costumes, masks and face painting. Thus, we had to be color-coded. Oh well... save us the hassle of dressing up too. :P)

Knowing that the tickets will be selling like hot cakes, we had bought them 6 weeks in advance. Also because of the early-bird discount with Maybank credit card. Heehee...

Many (who had went for the 1st few nights there) had advised me to get the express ticket, which is additional $40 on top of the $55 price we paid.

Thanks goodness, we listened to the wise advise.

THE QUEUE IS DAMN BLARDY LONG OK!

Halloween Horror Nights is only from 8pm to 1am. I really can't imagine being in the queue for 2 hrs, just for one attraction.

Not only my legs will be achy, my mood will also be dampen too.

Lucky 7.

Guess who is the scary cat in the group? Almost all of us!! Hahaha.. Brave souls awards go to Serene and Wendy. They protected us from those scare actors. Lolx!

Halloween Horror Night USS
House of Dolls - Hollywood Boulevard.

Upon entering the House of Dolls at Hollywood Boulevard, lots of scare actors just silently "float" pass you.

USS Halloween Horror Night
Some even "dance" pass you.

CREEPY~!

USS Halloween Horror Night
He's rather handsome and calm to be frighten of.

USS Halloween Horror Night
This doll is my favorite of all. Do you agree with me that her face makeup is one of the best there?

Plus, the zipper look is so "in" this halloween.

USS Halloween Terror Night
Who is scarier?

The guy on the left or the guy in the white mask?

USS Halloween Terror Night
Charmaine & I. Both acting to be scare for the camera.

If you happen to follow me on Instagram (@mmkimmie), you will know that this is not a machine rocking there.  This rocking "machine" is REAL ok!! He rocked halfway and scared the shit out of me! Wendy managed to capture a photo (in my Instagram) of me SHITTING IN MY PANTS! Literally.

USS Halloween Terror Night
Ok. This rocking doll is a machine.

But look damn real ok!

Love the spooky light effects on the camera. When you are there, u can't see the effect with your naked eyes. Good job USS!

USS Halloween Terror Night
Total Lockdown - New York.

Oh man. I love this place! So many zombies walking around. It reminds me of my favorite LAN game - Left4Dead.

Feel so surreal walking through the Total Lockdown.

I really applaud the scare actors for doing such a DAMN GOOD JOB! No joke being in that awkward poses.  Just look at the guy in the photo above. Super game to be in the photo with us lor.

Universal Studio Singapore
Seeking for help in the underworld. And no one there to help you. Poor soul.

USS Halloween Terror Night
I had visited USS many times. However, this is my first time taking the Transformers ride.

Awesomeness!

It was better than I had expected it to be. As good as the Mummy Return ride.

We visited 3 haunted housed back to back.

1. Dungeon of Damnation

2. Death Alley

3. The Insanitarium

My personal favorite is the Dungeon on Damnation, really scared the shit out of me. Screamed the most in there. Death Alley is rather interesting because of the Chinese theme. We even spotted two 70-years-old grandmothers as scare actors. Didn't enjoy The Instaitarium that much because there's no air-con, so the place is quite smelly. My focus was to hold my breath. Lolx. Oh ya, Doctor Dementia is super pretty ok!

1am.

Super exhausted from being scared throughout the night. We had lots of fun together. Thank you Halloween Horror Nights.

Wondering why my hubby wasn't there? He bought the tickets but because of super last minute change of roster, he couldn't make it. I know he was very disappointed as I had soooooo much fun there. It's ok baby, next year we shall go together ok? I really want to go again next year :)
